Credentials

The Verifiable Data Platform supports ways to issue credentials. If you need to make a single credential, you can use our simple form entry right in your browser using one of our ready-made templates. If you need to make multiple credentials of the same type, you can issue a batch of credentials using an Excel, JSON, or YAML file.
If you encounter problems issuing credentials, reach out to our <support team> for assistance.

Creating a Batch of Credentials From a File

If you need to create multiple credentials of the same type, you can use our batch upload feature to make this process easy. The Verifiable Data Platform supports issuing batches of credentials using JSON, YAML, CSV, or XLSX formats.

Downloading a Credential Template File

To create a credential batch, we recommend downloading a credential template file first. To download a credential template file first navigate to the Template Marketplace. From here, click on a template to see its details.

Creating a Batch With an Excel or CSV File

To create a batch of credentials with an Excel (XLSX) or CSV file, first download a credential template of either format. Once downloaded, open the file.
The first column of the spreadsheet are the keys, or fields, on your credential. These should remain the same across all of the credentials you want to issue.

The second column (and each subsequent column) are the values in your credential. These will vary and should be changed for each credential you want to issue. Each column represents a single credential in your batch of credentials.
Note: All template files include sample values by default. These should be replaced by real values before issuing a batch of credentials.

To create a batch of credentials with a JSON or YAML file, first download a batch template in either format. Once downloaded, open the file.
To create a batch of credentials using JSON, add each credential you want to issue to the array included in the downloaded template file.
